Colourful Parrot

Moved away from my usual pencil sketch style today and thought i'd have a go at illustrating with coloured pencils.

I Wanna Live In Paradise

Album cover design for 'Paradise' by the band Slow Club.

This is just my own interpreted design not the official album cover for the album.

Work in progress

Work in progress for a booklet i'm working on at uni on how to build your own workspace as a junior graphic designer.

Sweet Like Summer

Everyone likes a neapolitan right?
Created in Photoshop with a varied use of different opacity levels to create a layered image.

Diamonds are forever.

Pattern made from a repeated diamond.
I may develop it at a later date with either text or imagery.

Comic Sans.

Something i put together whilst on a creative streak.

How long is a piece of string?

This weekend I bought a spirograph which then led to me doing crazy things with a needle and thread.
Thought they could be potentially quite successful if i need them for graphics in the future.

Maps + charity shop adventures

This morning i took a trip into town to venture into the (too)many charity shops my town has to offer in search of old maps, papers, books that i could cut up and use in my sketchbooks.
I came across this map book and even though it's not something i'm going to read I was captivated by the way in which it was put together.
All a bit geeky really but i don't feel like i can rip the pages out and cut this book up. Maybe i'll just leave it as it is:)

It's a sewing revolution.

I have recently been facing the 'hit a brick wall' scenario in my current graphics brief at uni based upon personal territory.
I had been focussing on signage and the way in which our journeys and territory are governed by these rules and road markings however, today after a discussion with my lecturer I decided to scale it down and focus on something closer to my heart.
I have now decided to focus upon my personal territory as a graphic designer and the spaces i work in and the nature of the way i position things.
BRAINWAVE: I got my mums sewing machine out and started experimenting with outlining and markings as i feel most comfortable when working in a handmade style.
So we could finally be onto something and this mountain of a brief could slowly be progressing forward:)
HORAAAAAY!
