Since spending my time at University I have become more independent in being productive with my own self initiated projects and illustrations.
I have found my experience of university to be not that of what i expected it to be and at times I've found it extremely challenging however, i've made it to the end and now is the time to seriously think about what i want to do when i step into the big wide world(SHIT!!!)
Although i am not entirely 100% sure what it is i want focus upon there are certain routs i would like to venture on.
Firstly i feel i would benefit from finding a job as a junior graphic designer for me to be able to develop my skills and understand what it's really like to be a graphic designer.
It would also help be to meet people with the same creative interests and therefore helping me to build up more contacts.
My main aim is to be part of a collective of illustrators/illustration agency.
I've discovered since being at uni that i have a greater desire to become an illustrator and not solely a graphic designer be it freelance or the way in which i work and pursue my career as a designer.
Below is a list of collectives i've discovered whilst being at uni all focussing upon illustration and graphic artists.
Now the time when i finish university is coming up i want to spend my time between searching for a career job in developing my illustrative style furthermore, expanding my creative horizons whilst building a name for myself as a designer/illustrator.
I'm also planning to take up screen printing since i plan to take part in a ww.printclublondon.com
day workshop over the summertime. This is another way in which i can build up creative contacts inside knowledge.
Now i just need to get out there and do it!

My take on the story of Romeo and Juliet told over a four day period in the media of my own paper cuttings.
These will then be used to create shadows as part of an interactive way to tell the story.
Romeo kills Tybalt
Romeo + Juliet spend Monday night together
Capulet arranges for Paris and Juliet to marry
Juliet goes to Friar Laurence who gives her distilling liquor
Juliet drink potion on Tuesday night
Juliet is discovered 'dead' and is buried the same day
Romeo buys poison before leaving for Juliets tomb in Verona
Finds body of Juliet
Murders Paris and drinks poison just before Juliet awakes to find him dead beside her
She kills herself
They are discovered in the early hours of Thursday morning

I've been experimenting with layering the shadows onto text and have found that it makes the imagery less clear. I may try out different coloured papers and give it another try as i had intended to incorporate moving text with the shadows.
I made a small booth in which to encase it all in and after playing around with the shadows I have found it may work better for the text to be situated on the base and the shadows to be shone onto the back wall.
Now i've worked out a nice set up i need to sort out my other cuttings, and the text to work with it.

Today I felt like indulging in some baking and made 'Slutty Brownies' which is a delightful "who cares about the calories" mixture of cookie dough, Oreo biscuits and chocolate Brownie. YUM!
All you need is Betty Crocker cookie mix, Oreo biscuits and Betty Crocker chocolate brownie mix.
You layer it all up and cook for 30 minutes.
If you're already in a chocolate induced coma and need a step by step guide on how to make them here's the full recipe.

Last night I had a momentous brainwave and after struggling for 3 months solid I think i've discovered a technique that would work well with recreating the narrative of Romeo + Juliet.
I had originally planned to tell the story though paper cuttings in the form of a book but now i'm considering using shadows created with my paper cuttings in an interactive way.
I think i could finally be on to something here....YIPEE!!
Met' museum of art and History
At the beginning of March (08th - 12th) I went on a 5 day trip organised by my university to go to New York and it couldn't have come at a better time as my 21st was on the 9th so It was an experience i'll never forget.
We spent our time seeing the sights and visiting various art galleries whilst trying to fit in as much as we possibly could.
I enjoyed it so much i'm now looking into going back to the US some way or another a.s.a.p and even considering working out there for a short period of time next year as i finish university in June.
BOY I MISS IT!
